Join us for Indigenous Perspectives, sponsored by Casino Regina, reflecting on Richard Boulet's exhibition "Art Thou the Accuser of Thy Brethren or Art Thou the Inspiration of their Heart?"
Richard's vibrant and joyful textiles blend autobiographical poetry with cross-stitch, embroidery, quilting and other fibre arts techniques. This free event includes an exhibition tour, followed by an open discussion and a hands-on activity inspired by the exhibition, led by Métis textile artist Sara McCreary, complete with snacks and an elder present, on Friday, January 16, from 2:30 to 4:30 PM at the Art Gallery of Regina, 2420 Elphinstone St.
Sara will guide a hands-on workshop using hand stitching, embroidery, and appliqué to create wearable art pins or textile patches. Participants can mend or decorate garments, or make unique pins. No experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to explore creative stitching in a relaxed, process-focused session.
Register for this free event. (Attendance capped at 18 people.)
