2026 Woodrow Lloyd Lecture

The University of Regina's Faculty of Arts invites the public to attend the 2026 Woodrow Lloyd Lecture, with guest lecturer Timothy Caulfield, Professor in the Faculty of Law and School of Public Health and Research Director of the Health Law Institute at the University of Alberta. Professor Caulfield will be speaking on the topic The Knowledge Crisis: How Did We Get Here and What Can We Do?

Our information environment is increasingly chaotic and filled with misleading, harmful, and exploitive contents. This reality is a defining characteristic of our time. And research tells us it is doing tangible harm – to public health, mental health, public discourse, personal relationships, policy development, and public trust. How did we get here, why do people believe, and what can we do about it? In this provocative presentation Professor Caulfield will explore what the most recent evidence tells us about the nature and source of the current infodemic. He will also provide science-informed recommendations to cut through the noise and forge a constructive path forward. This is a crisis. Time to step up!

This event will take place on March 12th, 2026 at 7:00PM in the Education Auditorium in the Education Building on the main University of Regina campus. Parking is free in any M, Z or a public parking lot.

Please reserve a FREE ticket to confirm your attendance.
