What do you get when you cross a contemporary art and craft fair with a tailgate sale? What if you locate it at a heritage elevator farmers market? In a small southwest Saskatchewan village, Gateway to Grasslands National Park? That’s Tailgate Art Fair. It happens Sunday, August 9, 2026, in Val Marie, Saskatchewan.
Imagine rows of vehicles lined up near the Val Marie Heritage, Culture and Youth Elevator, their car trunks and truck beds filled with art and craft works from Saskatchewan artists and makers. Imagine a setting of wide open skies and rolling hills around the biggest tiny farmers market in southwest Saskatchewan. That’s Tailgate Art Fair.
2026 is Tailgate Art Fair‘s inaugural year. It’s being held in partnership with the Val Marie Heritage Elevator Farmers Market on the Sunday of Saskatchewan Open Farm Days. And it’s an exciting new opportunity to view and purchase beautiful Saskatchewan art and craft.
