Graphic Designer & Marketing Associate

Persephone Theatre, a leading cultural institution in the City of Saskatoon is looking for a creative and passionate Graphic Designer & Marketing Associate to join our team.
This position will report to the Director of Marketing & Communications. The Graphic Designer & Marketing Associate works collaboratively with the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Social Media & Marketing Associate to promote Persephone Theatre’s productions, programs, and initiatives, as well as working closely with other departments to support various design needs. This role is an integral member of the marketing department, assisting and collaborating in the daily and seasonal marketing, promotion and branding of Persephone Theatre. This position requires strong design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple creative projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
• In collaboration with Director of Marketing, design marketing materials, including creation of print and billboard ads, in house signage, and other visuals; video and photo editing; house programmes, e-newsletters, and seasonal brochures;
• Assist in implementing the seasonal marketing plan;
• Coordinate print production and liaise with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials;
• Compile and edit information and media that can be used as promotional material including shooting photos and videos for Media Calls, actor interviews, and “behind the scenes” coverage;
• Maintaining and updating website information;
• Assist the Social Media & Marketing Associate with creating online outreach and promotion of Persephone Theatre using social media platforms, including: Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, TikTok, LinkedIn;
• Participate in poster design meetings in lead up to Season Announcement;
• Maintain consistency of Persephone Theatre’s brand, following established style and guidelines;
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure marketing materials meet production and accessibility needs;
• Support audience engagement efforts, including promotional events, media previews, and opening nights;
• Attend Persephone events and programs as required, including Opening Nights;
• Assist with maintaining photo and video archives;
• Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
• Minimum 2–3 years of progressive experience in graphic design;
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). Experience with Premiere Pro is an asset.
• Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and visual storytelling
• Experience creating content for multiple platforms, including print, social media, and websites
• Knowledge of digital marketing tools and analytics platforms (Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, Email Marketing platforms, etc.)
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to balance multiple deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive and collaborative team player who can also work independently
• Experience in marketing and/or a related creative communications role is an asset
• Familiarity with theatre and arts marketing is an asset
• Passion for the arts and creative community engagement is ideal
Salary and Benefits:
• $40,000 - $44,000 per annum, commensurate with experience
• 3 weeks vacation, accrued annually

• This is a salaried, full-time position working year-round, with occasional evening and weekend work required around special events and production openings.
The ideal start date is September 15, 2025, but can be flexible for the right candidate.
