Saskatchewan Council for Archives and Archivists

The Saskatchewan Council for Archives and Archivists (SCAA) provides a forum for the exchange of information and ideas among those interested in archives. It is responsible for the development of a cooperative and successful archival network in Saskatchewan. It continues to encourage the establishment of new archives in the province, standard archival policies and best practices, as well as promoting public understanding and use of archives and historical resources. By developing an awareness of the importance of archives, the SCAA builds upon the heritage, cultural and educational resource network reaching into communities across the province. Most users of archives are “secondary” users – they have benefited from the use of an archive through images and research presented in books, articles, television documentaries and exhibits. (Incorporated in 2000; predecessor bodies incorporated in 1986 and 1988.)
