In its Speech from the Throne, the Government of Canada made diversity a topic of focus with a commitment to implementing recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission; launching an inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women; and, welcoming 25,000 new Canadians from Syria by the end of February 2016.
