We are delighted to announce our second collaboration with Remai Modern: a free talk with writer and cultural historian Amy Jo Ehman, followed by an artmaking session with German-born artist Heike Fink.
Ehman’s talk draws on the artwork featured in Althea Thauberger’s exhibition Der Kleiekotzer (The Bran Puker), exploring themes of settlement, dislocation, lived experience, and hopes lost and found. Her collaboration with Thauberger emerges from their shared family histories as descendants of 19th century settler families from the Black Sea region of Ukraine, then part of the Russian Empire.
Following the tour, attendees are invited to participate in a hands-on artmaking activity with Heike Fink, offering a chance to connect with the exhibition’s themes and deepen their appreciation of the artwork (approximately 4:00–4:30 PM).
This event is designed to be accessible and welcoming to all. Space is limited to 30 participants.
