Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival (SOTS) has been producing the works of Shakespeare on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River since 1985. We attract visitors from across the province, the country, and the world. We strive to create a warm, relaxing, and inviting atmosphere for our patrons so they can truly enjoy their theatrical experience. Our Groundskeeper will be an integral part of this vision as they will be responsible for helping to maintain an appealing and comfortable atmosphere for our patrons, staff, artists and any site visitor.

Working under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Groundskeeper duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Cutting grass, weed whacking, watering plants, pulling weeds, trimming trees
• Emptying trash and recycling cans
• Snow and ice removal
• Cleaning of the tents, exterior and interior of buildings, maintaining cleanliness of all storage areas on site
• Cleaning and sanitizing performance area and all public areas
• Painting or other minor maintenance of facilities
• Minor carpentry or construction
• Other duties as assigned

HOURS OF WORK: Part-time (20-25 hrs/week), variable hours
RATE OF PAY: $13.00/Hour
APPROXIMATE DURATION: May 24, 2021 to September 20, 2021

Qualifications:
1. Must be 30 years of age or younger as of start of the contract**
2. Possess excellent organizational and communication skills
3. Ability to lift 50lbs
4. Availability to work evenings and weekends throughout the summer
5. Enjoy working outdoors and able to work in inclement weather
6. Previous experience working in groundskeeping/horticulture services will be considered an asset
7. Post-secondary training in horticulture or theatre will be considered an asset
