We’re expanding our team and hiring a General Manager!

Burnt Thicket Theatre [BTT] is seeking a qualified individual for the position of General Manager. We aim to strengthen our staff team’s administrative capacity, to create work opportunities for arts administrators/theatre artists/self-producers committed to living in Saskatoon, to offer mentorship to individuals interested in Burnt Thicket’s mission, and to cultivate a collaborative community within our company.

We’re grateful to SK Arts for awarding us a Professional Arts Organization Core operating grant this season, which makes our staff expansion possible.

General Manager

The General Manager supports BTT’s operations by collaborating closely with the Artistic Director to develop annual operating budgets, to grow fundraising partnerships and industry relationships, by managing financials, operations and productions, human resources, as well as supervising administration and marketing, along with growing a staff team culture that supports a cooperative and productive work environment. This is a contract position for 52 hours/month, reporting to the Artistic Director, supporting productions and events in collaboration with BTT staff, plus personal artistic development.

Suggested qualifications for the position include experience in managing a staff team, excellent time management, expertise in communications, financial management, marketing, funding development, and/or production management. The position requires minimum 2 years of post-secondary education as well as a minimum 4 years of relevant experience. Previous experience in administrative management and development is required, preferably in theatre or creative industries.
