The Saskatchewan Archaeological Society (SAS) is seeking a post-secondary student to assist with our Public Archaeology Field School Program in the area of collections management. Duties include reviewing background material and managing the cleaning, identification, and cataloguing of all artifacts recovered during the 2023 field season. It involves a human-interest component and applicants should have experience and be comfortable working with diverse audiences and public speaking.

Qualifications:
• must be a current post-secondary student in Archaeology/Anthropology, Museum Studies, Indigenous Studies, History or a closely related field (Master's program is preferred but experienced BA or BSc's students will be considered)
• experience working with artifact collections and familiarity with archaeological field methods (i.e. completed archaeology field school and/or field work)
• familiarity with historical archaeology is an asset
• computer competency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• experience with Access would be an asset
• energetic, motivated self-directed but capable of working in a team setting
• excellent communication and organizational skills.

In order to meet Young Canada Works-Summer Jobs eligibility requirements, all candidates must demonstrate that they:
• are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible);
• are legally entitled to work in Canada;
• are between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
• are willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment;
• will not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) during the Young Canada Works work assignment;
• have been a full-time high school, college, CEGEP or university student (as defined by their educational institution) in the semester preceding the YCW work assignment; and
• intend to return to full-time studies in the semester following the YCW work assignment.
