The Grounds Maintenance Assistant’s main responsibility will be to support the maintenance of the grounds and equipment. The Grounds Maintenance Assistant will ensure that the grounds are esthetically pleasing and safe for visitors. They will also assist with the set-up of special events and functions. This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs.
DUTIES:
• Grounds maintenance including trimming caragana hedge, trees and shrubs; cutting grass that tractor cannot reach with a push mower; weeding and watering flowers and trees; planting, weeding, watering and maintaining garden.
• Special Events and Programming
• Assist with the set-up and dismantling of special events and programs held in the Museum.
• Assist with artifact and exhibit security.
16 weeks from May 8 - August 25, 2023. 40 hours per week. 8:45 am to 5:15 pm. Shifts include weekday, weekend and occasional evening work.
