Are you passionate about history, storytelling, and creating engaging experiences for visitors? The Town of Battleford is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic person to take on the role of Museum & Heritage Manager. This position is responsible for Management of all Town-owned Museum sites while also spearheading community heritage and tourism initiatives. The primary focus of the position is the daily operation of the Fred Light Museum. As Manager you'll be at the heart of everything — ensuring smooth operations, curating fascinating exhibits, planning community events, developing educational programs and leading a team that shares your love for local history.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain and catalog historical collections and artifacts, following industry best practices for accessioning.
• Plan and curate exhibitions that tell unique and engaging stories.
• Hire, train, schedule and supervise museum staff.
• Develop and organize educational programs and community wide events.
• Oversee the development and implementation of tourism initiatives to promote the town’s heritage, culture and other attractions.
• Work with the Fred Light Museum Board (Developing meeting agendas, attending monthly meetings, implementing boards requests etc.).

Education & Experience (Preferred):
• Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution in Museum Studies, History or related field.
• Minimum three years related experience and at least one year in a municipal government system.
• Three years of experience in a management role.
• Basic proficiency in the use of computers and Windows-based software
• Ability to work independently and lead diverse teams effectively
• Knowledge of local history would be an asset
• Attention to detail and accuracy in recording information
• Demonstrated customer service experience
• RPAL (Restricted Possession and Acquisition License) or ability to obtain
• Class 5 driver's license

Salary and Benefits:
Starting Range: $27.00 to 30.00/hour (to be negotiated)
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package and Municipal Employees Pension Plan (MEPP)
