SEDA is seeking a visionary and collaborative Executive Director who is excited to lead a mission-driven team and volunteers, champion educational programming, and foster an inclusive, innovative, and financially sustainable organization dedicated to debate.

What You’ll Do
As Executive Director, you will play a key role in guiding the strategic direction and daily operations of SEDA. Reporting to the Board of Directors, your responsibilities include:

Inspiring Leadership: Motivate and lead a small team of staff and volunteers, while working closely with Board members and community partners.
Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day functions, ensuring smooth operations and accountability in administration, programming, and evaluation.
Financial Stewardship: Oversee sustainable budgeting, reporting, and transparent financial practices.
Capacity Building: Cultivate growth opportunities for youth, staff, volunteers, and coaches by supporting training, resources, and meaningful engagement.
Strategic Execution: Align programs and activities with SEDA’s long-term vision and core mission.
Fund Development: Lead fundraising initiatives and seek new opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who believes in the power of critical thing and debate in our complicated times, who believes in the importance of equity in education, and sees the potential of youth. The ideal candidate is a strong collaborator who brings:

At least 5 years of relevant experience, including leadership in a nonprofit or educational setting
A degree in a related field (education, communications, nonprofit management, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills

Bonus Points for Experience In:
Debate, public speaking, or speech education
K-12 or extracurricular education
Online program delivery and digital engagement
Nonprofit governance, policy, or board development
