About the Mann Art Gallery (MAG):
The MAG is Prince Albert’s only public art gallery, and the northernmost public art gallery in Saskatchewan. It has an important role to play in promoting local and regional artists' work through mounting and touring exhibitions, producing catalogues, and conducting curatorial visits. Diversity and community involvement in our programming is achieved by exhibiting works in three (3) on-site galleries from different artists and art groups. This allows the gallery to maintain its curatorial focus (Main Gallery), and display emerging artists (Project Space), while encouraging youth & adult students to actively participate (Studio Gallery/Education Room). OSAC touring exhibitions are exhibited in partnership with the Prince Albert Council for the Arts in the John V. Hicks Gallery in the Prince Albert Arts Centre. The MAG is a not-for-profit organization, financially supported by grants from the City of Prince Albert, the Mann Family, community and government sources.
Position Summary: The Director/Curator oversees the operational, artistic, developmental, and financial management of the organization, in accordance with the strategic and operational plan. Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Board of Directors, the Director/Curator leads the artistic programming and administrative operations consistent with the gallery’s vision and mission. The ideal candidate will have a wide range of skills related to curation and programming management, as well as financial reporting, policy implementation, and staff leadership. Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s Degree in Fine Arts, or equivalent education & experience, from an accredited University program with a specialization in Art History, Curatorial Studies, Cultural Studies, or Studio Art. A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience:
Three years of previous art gallery experience, administration and operation of a cultural institution, exhibitions or related programs. Demonstrated leadership working with a professional team, groups, and managing volunteers. Managing finances in the non-profit sector, including grant proposals and fundraising experience.

Ideal Start Date: June 1, 2020 (negotiable)
Contract: 3 year renewable contract
Full time Work: Some evenings and weekends are required for meetings and events. Hours are flexible and negotiable.
