The Saskatchewan Library Association (SLA) is a provincial, volunteer, non-profit organization whose mandate is to further the development of library service in Saskatchewan and through libraries, the culture of the province. SLA includes as members: individuals, institutions, and organizations who share a common interest in library service and cultural activities.

As a result of COVID-19, we have had to rethink the method of delivery for our fall programs: Culture Days (September 25 - October 25) and Saskatchewan Library Week (October 18-24).

• SLA will be producing short videos of approximately 45 minutes for distribution in Saskatchewan Libraries during Culture Days and SLW. These videos are of an instructional nature and can include any art form, as long as the skill can be learned in the 45 minute time frame.

• Writers will be expected to read from their work, and if time permits, talk about “the Writing Life”

• Artists will be paid CARFAC rates and writers will receive appropriate Canada Council suggested compensation for their work.

• The videos will become the property of SLA.

• These videos can include any art form, as long as the skill can be learned in the 45 minute time frame.

• Preference will be given to artists who have some teaching experience.

• Artists must be residents of Saskatchewan and be available to participate during the month of August.

• Videos will be filmed in either Saskatoon or Regina, Artists will be compensated for mileage upon approval.

• The cost of materials must not be prohibitive and a suggested cost would be under $25.

• The deadline to apply is Monday, July 27, 2020.
