The City of Regina (the City), which resides on Treaty 4 land, is looking to support an Indigenous artist (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) to create a work(s) of art to be accessioned into the City’s Civic Art Collection during an artist in residency. This Indigenous Artist in Residence program will support Regina’s Cultural Plan goals to strengthen the Indigenous communities’ cultural presence in Regina as well as support artists and the arts. This program provides funding for Indigenous artists to explore their artistic practice and produce a piece of artwork or body of work to be accessioned into the City of Regina Civic Art Collection. This program will also foster community engagement opportunities which have a
positive impact on both the artist, as well as the residents of Regina. The Indigenous Artist in Residence program demonstrates the City’s ongoing commitment to representation and visibility of Indigenous artists, and the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.
