Call for Exhibition Proposals: Government House QEII Gallery Space

Government House invites artists to submit exhibition proposals for the QEII Gallery space for consideration. Government House is a National Historic Site and Provincial Heritage Property. Our mission is to provide visitors with an accessible historic place to preserve, promote and celebrate Saskatchewan's living heritage. The Government House QEII Gallery space aims to exhibit artworks that reflect the diverse stories of the people, histories, and communities of Saskatchewan while providing a supportive platform for Saskatchewan-based artists to display their work. There are no specific themes required for submissions, although proposals that connect in some way to the mission of Government House are encouraged.

Application information:
- Exhibitions are three months long.
- Submissions will be considered for 2025 and 2026.
- All exhibiting artists are paid following the CARFAC fee schedule for Exhibitions in Other Public Spaces.
- Exhibition space is limited to primarily two-dimensional works, with some small display cases for three-dimensional works. If you have any specific installation or space requirements, please let us know in your proposal.
- Exhibiting artists must be based in Saskatchewan.
- All submissions will be reviewed by our exhibitions committee.
- Closing deadline is June 30 at midnight CST.

Application Requirements:
- A brief introductory statement (250 words maximum) highlighting yourself, your practice, and your interest in an exhibition at Government house.
- Exhibition details, including: • Title • Proposed number of pieces • Specific installation or space requirements, if applicable
- Artist/Exhibition statement: tell us what you imagine for the exhibit including any themes, ideas, or stories you are hoping to tell. (500 words maximum)
- Three images of proposed artwork for the exhibition. Note: If the pieces have not yet been produced, please provide works that you feel support your application and can help us imagine the work you hope to produce for the show. Images must be saved as tiffs, pngs, or jpegs at a minimum resolution of 72 dpi, with a maximum size of 1.5 MB and a maximum 1024 x 768 pixels.
- A corresponding artwork list for the images provided. This should include title, medium, date, dimensions, and artist name.
- Optional supporting material (Artist website, social media, or another online platform. You could also include recent reviews, articles, etc. no more than 3 pages in length). Please do not include a portfolio.
