Colonialism on Canvas Interactive Online Workshop

In recognition of Indigenous History Month and Pride Month, the Common Ground Project has organized a "Colonialism on Canvas" online workshop. This interactive session uses art as a way to present the 5 Stages of Colonialism and how the stages affected Indigenous peoples and Two-Spirit people. This workshop creates a safe space to have conversations and reflections between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples and about historical topics that affect Indigenous and Two-Spirit people today. If you can paint squares, triangles, and circles then you can participate! The painting and info portion is followed by a sharing of the reflections you had during the experience and how that knowledge can be implemented in the work you do. Canvas, paints, and supplies will be provided to participants who register by June 23, 2020. Space is limited for this event, however, we may consider a second session if we fill too quickly. If you have any questions our would like to register feel free to email pacommonground@gmail.com or register directly through Eventbrite through the following link: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/110226089200
