Snapshots of Canada, a travelling exhibit created by the Canadian Museum of History and Canada’s History Society, captures 50 moments reflecting this country’s history, from high drama to simple joy. It is accompanied by text in which Canadian writers explore our shared triumphs, failures, and sacrifices in evocative and often touching prose.
Opikinawasowin: Growing Métis Children was produced in-house in partnership with Métis artist Leah Marie Dorion. Opikinawasowin features original artworks that tell the story of Métis child rearing and development from Leah’s unique artistic view, are deeply influenced by Métis Elders’ teachings and will be accompanied by personal objects of her own experiences. This micro-exhibit is part of the larger project “Power and Privilege in Saskatchewan Museums,” funded through SaskCulture’s Multicultural Initiative’s fund-project stream.
